WEDDING POEM
No fickle vows I offer
No fancy words
Just the whispers of my heart
Wanting to be heard
From the first time you smiled
To the last moments of death
I’ll know what I was loved
I was honored
I was blessed
I see myself in you
And you in me
I am proud of who we are
What we’ve accomplished
What our love will always be.
Thank you for your trust
Your honor and your heart
Together we walk this path
However long, however far
Two weary warriors
Looking for a safe place to rest
We’ve destroyed all enemies
We’ve outlasted the test
The winds howled hard
And the storms were long
Separately just surviving
Together we are strong
So take my hand,
My lover, my partner, my friend
Today we are one
Love’s complicated weaving
Never to be separated,
Never to be undone
